2008 Estuary Ecology Day FREE Professional
Development Workshop
Romberg Tiburon Center, Tiburon, CA
March 15th, 2008 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM

Join the Romberg Tiburon Center and San Francisco Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve for another exciting, informative professional development workshop. This Spring's Estuary Ecology Day features new speakers and two options for a field trip.
Estuary Ecology Day is a FREE, one-day workshop designed to promote interaction between Bay Area marine scientists and middle and high school science teachers. Participating teachers will learn about scientific research happening in the Bay right now, take home lesson ideas, and network with other science teachers as we study the estuary through interactive lectures, activities and a field trip.
Morning sessions will include presentations by scientists about species that are invading our salt marshes and endangered fish that are trying to survive in the estuary.
For the afternoon sessions, participants will choose one of two field trips: (1) Conduct research and explore one of the best salt marshes left in the Bay or (2) take a research cruise onboard our small research vessel, the R/V Questuary.
This workshop is sponsored by the Romberg Tiburon Center for Environmental Studies, www.rtc.sfsu.edu and NOAA's San Francisco Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve, www.sfbaynerr.org.
