Professional Development

The Romberg Tiburon Center is committed to sharing our research and scientific expertise with educators and science professionals in the community.  We offer two separate professional development programs, our Workshops for Educators and our Wetland Science Series.

Workshops for Educators

The RTC Outreach Coordinator and the Education Coordinator of the San Francisco Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve host two workshops featuring scientist speakers from RTC and other local institutions each year, in the spring and fall. See Workshops for Educators for more information.

In 2012, we hosted a series of professional development workshops on climate change for middle and high school educators. These workshops were offered in partnership with NOAA's SF Bay NERR, the Farallones Marine Sanctuary Associaton, and Cordell Bank National Marine Sanctuary.

Wetland Science Series

The Wetland Science Series is designed for agency scientists and decision makers. Classes in this program can be used to meet requirements of the Professional Wetland Science Certification Program offered by the Society of Wetland Scientists.
